February  "United we stand"

Romans ch 15  v 43       Together in a spirit of unity

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We said last time that the church we belong to will reflect who we are and how we behave.  Here we have some pretty basic guidelines which may seem very easy….but for every united church there is probably one wrestling with division amongst its members.  We love to have our own way and impose that on others but is never going to work .In the few verses above is the key to success and the reason for seeking it.  The very last words are “ by the power of the Holy Spirit” By allowing  Jesus to live within us and dominate our thoughts, our hearts and our attitudes we can find that place of unity and peace  that draws us together and allows the Kingdom to grow !
